Mastoid shapes |
The mastoid shapes are designed to help the surgeon avoid defects in the area of the mastoid bone. This can be after obliterative mastoidectomy, posterior fossa tumour surgeries, surgeries with lateral approaches to the skull base.
It is available in regular and medium sizes. The medium size implants are designed for the left and the right side.
The regular size has an universal applications regardless of the side surgery.
The edges can be shaped to overlap the bone defect by about 0.5mm.
